How Does HGH Work?
Now that you’re familiar with the history of
medical use of HGH, we’ll take a look at how
HGH works to
achieve certain objectives. The effects of Human Growth Hormone
on the impacted tissues of the human body can generally be
described as anabolic.
Anabolic refers to a synthetic phase of metabolism known
for building up tissues and organs. Human Growth Hormone is a
protein hormone. As
such, it acts by working together with a specific receptor on
the surface of cells. These
anabolic interactions of HGH with the cells’ receptors work in
similar ways to solve very different problems.
Below are descriptions of how Human Growth Hormone works
to alleviate specific symptoms, followed by case studies of real
patients who have experienced results.
Pediatric
Human Growth Hormone Deficiency (PHGHD)
Pediatric Human Growth Hormone Deficiency occurs
in an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 children in the United States
alone. Though most
short children do not necessarily have a growth problem, a child
growing at a much slower than normal rate can signify PHGHD.
This condition exists when pituitary growth hormone
production is absent, has slowed or stopped completely.
Adult Human Growth Hormone
Deficiency (AHGHD)
Though adults don’t rely on natural Growth
Hormone production for growth as children do, their bodies do
depend on it for other purposes.
In adults, it is necessary to sustain healthy body
composition and metabolism.
When an adult’s pituitary gland does not secrete enough
of this important hormone, the body can have trouble maintaining
a normal fat to muscle ratio, bad to good cholesterol levels,
and appropriate bone mineral density.
Treatment with Human Growth Hormone
Increased height during childhood is the most
commonly recognized effect of Human Growth Hormone. Height in
growing children appears to be stimulated by at least two
mechanisms:
-
Polypeptide, (a peptide containing anywhere from ten to
more than one hundred amino acids) hormones are not fat-soluble.
Hence, they cannot penetrate the cell membrane of the
muscle cell. Thus, HGH applies some of its effects by binding to
receptors on target cells, where it activates a second
messenger.
Through
this mechanism GH directly stimulates division and
multiplication of cells and tissues.
-
Growth
Hormone also stimulates production of Insulin-Like Growth Factor
1(IGF-1, a hormone homologous to proinsulin. The liver is a
chief target organ of GH for this process and is the principal
site of IGF-1 production. IGF-1 has growth-stimulating effects
on a wide variety of tissues. Additional IGF-1 is generated
within target tissues. IGF-1 also has stimulatory effects on
osteoblast and chondrocyte activity to promote bone growth.
Children
diagnosed with Pediatric Human Growth Hormone Deficiency are
treated with HGH injections until accelerated growth brings the
patient to normal size levels.
Likewise,
adults with Adult Human Growth Hormone Deficiency are treated
with HGH injections until body mass and cholesterol level ratios
reach normal levels and proper bone density is achieved.

PHGHD Case Study – “Anna”
Anna’s mother knew something was definitely
wrong. Anna had
always been on the small side, but at age 10, she seemed to stop
growing altogether. Her
sister, who was two years younger, was suddenly taller than her.
Kids in her class were calling her names like
“shorty” and “midget.”
At this point, Anna’s parents and pediatrician decided
to work with a pediatric endocrinologist and start testing for
various conditions. They
started by reviewing her growth chart and examining the
family’s medical history.
Next, they had blood work done in order to examine
various hormone levels. A
bone-age (x-ray of the hand) was taken in order to evaluate the
size of bone openings in children that close up with growth.
This x-ray told the pediatric endocrinologist that
Anna’s “bone age” was 7.
At this point, an MRI of Anna’s head was taken in order
to rule out any brain tumors.
During the entire process, Anna and her parents were
reassured by the medical staff that all phases of the testing
were very routine.
When Anna was diagnosed with Pediatric Human
Growth Hormone Deficiency, her parents were crushed.
The thought of regular injections for their daughter
conflicted Anna’s parents greatly.
They wondered if it would be okay for their daughter to
just be a shorter person. The
pediatric endocrinologist explained the repercussions of letting
PHGHD go untreated, including morbidity and death.
Shortly thereafter, Anna began HGH injection therapy.
Anna needed daily injections, so after a few
weeks of being on the treatment, the doctor trained her mother
to administer the HGH injections.
After three months, the endocrinologist saw that progress
was being made and he adjusted the dose.
At the end of the second three-month period, Anna had
grown a total of 5.4 inches!
She was almost at a normal height level for children her
age, and she was very well adjusted to taking the daily
injections.
Today, Anna looks no different than her
classmates. She
still has to take daily injections, as most children continue to
take them through their teenage years until growth is expected
to stop.
AHGHD Case Study – “Gene”
Gene suffered from Growth Hormone Deficiency as
a child and was treated with HGH injections.
After completing therapy (and growth), he spent almost
ten years with Human Growth Hormone.
Toward the second half of the near-decade, Gene started
to notice that he lacked energy.
He began to feel physically drained and lethargic.
He also noticed that his “tiredness” was leading to
an apathetic mood and the desire to “just give up.”
According to Gene, the psychological symptoms were even
worse than the physical ones.
For him, these included:
-
Depression and anxiety
-
Panic and stress
-
Lack of concentration
-
Mental exhaustion
-
Fear of the future
For Gene, the physical symptoms of Adult Human
Growth Hormone Deficiency included:
-
Muscle exhaustion almost immediately upon exerting physical
effort
-
Persistent “baby shape” to his body, regardless of
bodybuilding efforts
-
Colds and other minor illnesses were absurdly debilitating
-
Alcohol intolerance
Gene realized that he was not able to enjoy his
life as a normal 30-year-old man should be able to.
He finally decided to speak with his doctor.
Gene’s primary care physician, knowing about
his experience with Pediatric Growth Hormone Deficiency,
suspected the problem had to do with Adult HGH Deficiency.
Gene was referred to an endocrinologist who performed
blood work and shortly thereafter diagnosed Gene with AHGHD.
Gene and his doctor agreed that he should begin
long-term HGH injection therapy right away.
Within weeks, results were evident.
Gene began to feel better in general.
He was less tired and had more energy than ever before.
Over time, his muscles were not only less tired, but also
began to acquire the muscle tone and shape of adult muscles and
his body began to look more normal.
Gene was able to concentrate more at work and felt less
scared and anxious all the time.
He was actually energetic enough to go out in the
evenings, instead of just falling into bed.
The improvement in Gene’s life over a few months of HGH
replacement therapy was remarkable.
Anti-aging
Natural
Human Growth Hormone secretion is responsible for calcium
retention, and strengthens and increases the bone mineralization
process among other things.
As aging occurs, the production and secretion of this
important hormone can be diminished considerably, which leads to
symptoms of aging throughout the body.
HGH replacement therapies such as injections, sprays,
pills or tablets can restore these functions and rejuvenate the
human body by:
-
Retaining calcium
-
Strengthening bone density
-
Increasing muscle mass
-
Stimulating and strengthening the immune system
-
Increasing protein synthesis
-
Promoting the breakdown of fat stored in fat cells
-
Stimulating the growth of all internal organs except the brain
-
Reducing the liver’s uptake of glucose
-
Promoting glucogenesis in the liver
-
Contributing to the maintenance and function of pancreatic
islets
HGH for Anti-aging Case Study –
“George”
George
was 67 and retired. He
found himself in a stage of life that he felt was uncomfortable
to the point of being unbearable.
His anxiety and stress were getting the better of him.
He felt tension more often than not and was unable to get
a good night’s sleep. He
was depressed by the changes in his body.
He felt he was too young to have lost so much muscle
tone, and was unwilling to resign himself to his body’s shape
and condition. George
spoke with his family doctor and began taking an antidepressant.
The drug helped his mood mildly, but the state of
George’s body still troubled him greatly.
George’s quality of life had taken a nosedive, and he
wasn’t sure what to do.
A
friend of George’s recommended an anti-aging specialist who
had done wonders for her. George
decided to visit the anti-aging clinic and find out more.
“Dr. Chatzky” examined George, inquired about his own
and his family’s medical history.
He took blood and ran some routine lab exams.
“Dr.
Chatzky” told George about HGH replacement therapy for
anti-aging. He
explained that though somewhat controversial, the treatment had
improved quality of life for over 170 of his own patients.
George asked about possible risks and side effects, and
ultimately decided that the benefits would outweigh them.
He began HGH
injection therapy the next week.
After the 5th day, George began to feel subtle
changes in his body, though it was difficult to explain exactly
what those changes were. The
very next week, he noticed that his appetite was suddenly much
better – practically voracious, and that he was sleeping
through the night. Each
new week of HGH replacement therapy brought new improvements –
to George’s mood, to his body composition, and to his overall
well-being. In the
fourth month, his wife decided she would also like to try Human
Growth Hormone.
In
order to save some money, George and “Martha” started
looking for an online source of HGH injections they could
administer themselves at home.
They found a reputable manufacturer of the injection and
have been able to continue their ongoing treatment without
breaking the bank. Now,
they enjoy a life full of bike rides, picnics, theater, dancing
and more. “It’s
like a whole new youth!” says Martha.
For Weight-loss
Using
Human
Growth Hormone for healthy weight loss can be very effective if used concurrently with a
nutritious and low-fat diet and a daily regimen of
cardiovascular exercise. HGH
significantly enhances the body’s ability to lose weight and
achieve proper muscle to fat ratios for many of the same reasons
it works to alleviate AHGHD.
Because HGH replacement therapies increase muscle mass
and promote the breakdown of fat stored in fat cells, weight
loss becomes much easier to achieve.
Add the benefits of an improved immune system and
increased energy and you’ll be on your way to a healthier
body.
HGH for Weight-loss Case Study –
“Maria”
Maria
led a busy life. As
a Kindergarten teacher, wife and mother, she spent most of her
young life running around chasing children.
The weight problem started when she retired at age 55,
shortly after her own children had gone off to college.
Maria started overeating as a coping mechanism for her
“loss” of her children and career.
At the same time, the new season of life (middle age,
menopause) had seemed to all but stop her slowing metabolism.
All these changes led to a weight increase that put Maria
at risk of heart disease and stroke.
Maria
recognized that there was a problem, and started trying
different weight-loss methods in order to keep herself healthy.
She tried several different diets.
She joined her local gym and started going religiously.
Unfortunately, for all her efforts, Maria was unable to
achieve any significant results.
That’s when a friend mentioned the possibility of using
Human Growth Hormones
as a weight-loss stimulant.
“Julia” told Maria about how she had been using HGH
for years, and she described to her the overall improvements in
her body. She also
told her about the easy-to-administer injections and about how
she was able to order them from the Internet.
Maria
started her journey by doing some research.
She found every piece of information – positive and negative ever written about the use
of Human Growth Hormones
for
weight loss. She
realized quickly that HGH
would be very effective for her
purpose, but not without continuing to eat healthy, low fat
meals, controlling her portions, and working out regularly.
She was also very hesitant to administer injections or
even get injections at a clinic (not that she could afford it).
Fortunately,
she found an HGH manufacturer that supplies the hormone in the
form of tablets to be taken orally.
The manufacturer touted them as “anti-aging
capsules,” which was just fine by Maria.
She verified that the tablets contained the same Human
Growth Hormone as the injections her friend was taking and
ordered them right away.
She
started taking the HGH
pills about a week later.
She took one pill per day for 5 days out of the week,
then she took 2 days off. She
started noticing changes in her energy level and skin tone after
about 2 weeks of therapy. She
felt healthier in general in the first month of taking HGH than
she had in years. She
was also finally able to start losing some weight.
It
took Maria three months of taking HGH
Tablets to lose the 25
pounds she had gained since her retirement.
She has now kept the weight off for over 3 years, though
she admits that she still takes HGH.
She sees the tablets as a supplement that makes her feel
and look healthy, young and beautiful.
